  • Burial ceremony for America 250 Time Capsule

    The final event of the South Dakota 250 Commission, in conjunction with the South Dakota State Historical Society, is to bury a time capsule on the grounds of the Battleship South Dakota Memorial in Sioux Falls. The burying ceremony takes place November 2, 2026 (South Dakota’s Birthday). The capsule will be opened November 2, 2076 (Tricentennial of United States of America). This is South Dakota's only 250 America time capsule.
