Donations for History Commemoration

Plans for expanding the Battleship South Dakota Memorial are moving forward. Building an addition will allow space to display more artifacts and historical records. You can help preserve World War II history and educate future generations, not only by visiting and talking about the Memorial, but through your monetary donations to the project. All proceeds will be used for the maintenance and expansion of the Memorial.

Making Room for History

Battleship South Dakota Memorial cannot currently display all artifacts and donated materials due to lack of space. The addition will increase the exhibit area and allow the staff to accept a great number of items being offered as gifts to be displayed. Visit this page for updates and progress.

Remembering the Great Battleship

Visitors to Battleship South Dakota Memorial will be able to follow the battleship’s lifespan of by watching a history video in the theater that will be part of the expansion. Your participation and donations will help perpetuate the memory of USS South Dakota and its crewmembers.
